elementary (k-6th) | I am an Elementary Teacher Education major, and I have been taking education classes for the past few years now. I have student taught all core subjects in several elementary schools, and I have tutored school-aged children one-on-one. I like to get to know my students' learning styles so that I can individualize lessons so that they can get the most out of our sessions. |

phonics | I have taken and excelled in multiple literacy instruction courses. I mainly work with young children who are just beginning to learn how to read, but I do have experience teaching older students, such as teenagers and adults. With the younger students, I use index cards and games to help them learn that each letter has it's own sound, sometimes multiple sounds. With older students, I use passages from age-appropriate literature for them to read aloud so they learn to sound out word and become fluent in reading. |
