Chinese | I am an Chinese and I came from Mainland of China. Mandarin is my first language, but I am also fluent in English. I volunteered myself tutoring Chinese children at a Chinese church for a semester. We went through the basic grammar. During the lecture, we also practiced speaking and writing. I also tutored one of my friend for his Chinese 400 level course. One of the assignment was a research paper. I helped him to interview 2 other Chinese students (we spoke Mandarin during the interview). And then I did the proofreading for this research paper. |

discrete math | I got my Bachelor of Science degree at Liberty University and I was a mathematics major. I have worked for the mathematical department of Liberty University since August 2012. I took Discrete Math in the Fall of 2012 and I started tutoring for this course at Liberty University. |

differential equations | I got my Bachelor of Science degree at Liberty University and I was a mathematics major. I took differential equations during spring of 2013 and I got an A in this course. After I took differential equations, I became a grader and tutor for this course at Liberty University. |

linear algebra | I took Linear Algebra at Fall 2012 and I got an A in that course. I became a grader for that course right after I took it and I am also tutoring students for Linear Algebra. I have been tutoring Linear Algebra for almost 3 years at college level. This semester I am a Teacher Assistant for my professor's Linear Algebra course. We plan to cover systems of linear equations, linear programming, nullspace and rank of matrices, determinants, abstract vector spaces, bases, linear independence, spanning sets, linear transformations, characteristics and minimal polynomials, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, diagonalization, similarity, coordinate change, orthogonality, and matrix factorizations. |

finite math | I have been tutoring Finite Math from August 2012 to now. And I was grading for finite math for 2 semesters. During the working at the tutoring center at Liberty University, Finite Math is what most students came and asked for help. I view Finite Math as the introduction level for single variable calculus one and without proofs. The course is not hard, most of student are struggling in this course, and the main reason is they are really weak in basic algebra. Related Rate problems is the most students failed this course. During the tutoring, I will help them try to analysis the word problem and set up the equation(sometimes the systems of equations), and then leading them to solve the problem. The calculation is not terrible bad in this course. Once student understand the basic law when they take derivative and know the difference between the chain rule and the product rule. The calculation part for this course is not hard for students at all. |
