I am a student who is studying at the University of Hartford to get a degree in Mathematics. I intend to get my Ph.D. and go on to do research and teach at the graduate level. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, and tutoring is a great way to get experience. I find the challenge of helping students to be fun and rewarding. In the past, I’ve tutored several AP Physics students, Pre-Calculus and Calculus students both at the AP and college level, and students in a number of other university …

I am an upper-division college student majoring in mathematics, and have extensive experience with this subject. I have taken the Discrete Mathematics courses at the university level, and have tutored them before outside of WyzAnt. Moreover, Discrete Mathematics serves as an introduction to many of the most important concepts in Pure Mathematics (Set Theory, Proof Writing, and Number Theory to name a few), which are of great interest to me. As I am progressing towards graduate school, I have found that Set Theory in particular attracts me, and am actively doing research in it. |
differential equations |
As an upper-division college student majoring in mathematics, I have extensive experience with differential equations. Beyond taking courses at the university, I have taken part in a research project involving describing a new model of neurons that involves a fourth-order, nonlinear, partial differential equation; this project was recently presented at several universities. |
linear algebra |
I have studied the standard Linear Algebra course at university, achieving high marks, and am more than familiar with the relevant concepts. As an extension, I have continued to study infinite dimensional vector spaces and the concept of basis as it applies to solving problems involving the prime numbers. I've tutored several students both at the AP and college level, and students in a number of university classes. |
