Algebra II is a fundamental course for becoming a scientist because it teaches students how numbers are related to equations and other numbers. It is a prerequisite for calculus and I have used these algebraic theories in all of my education and engineering experiences. |

I was introduced to digital spreadsheet concepts by using Appleworks, then quickly converted to Microsoft Office products to expand the spreadsheet capability. I have used Word and Excel applications for over 20 years and progressed through multiple version releases. I was recognized as Word and Excel experts by my peers and was oftentimes ask to help coworkers solve their complicated word processing and spreadsheet problems. |

Algebra and geometry were prerequisite courses for mechanical drafting, calculus, physics and my subsequent coursework. The geometry principles were applied throughout my professional experience to visualize two- and three-dimensional objects. |

My first exposure to Word in the 1980s was to type, save, and retrieve articles. Then my use of Word quickly expanded as desktop publishing capabilities were added and features that I routinely used throughout my professional career include: spell check, paragraph formatting, pagination, adding styles to section titles/subtitles, automatic section numbering, etc. I was considered a subject matter expert and was oftentimes asked to help coworkers solve their complicated publishing problems. |

I have used PowerPoint to create professional presentations for meetings and executive reviews since 2000. The slides consist of new material (text, tables, spreadsheets, graphs, etc.), adding pictures from other sources, and the information organized in an attractive manner. These slides prepare for an orderly presentation and the audience may have handouts so they can follow along with the presenter. I have created 100s of PowerPoint presentations and also used it to document and publish the training material for an advanced engineering course. |

The prealgebra course is a bridge between elementary mathematics and algebra. The training received in this course was an introduction for my subsequent mathematical coursework and was always used in all of my industry experiences. |

Algebra, geometry, and trigonometry were prerequisite courses for calculus and subsequent coursework. I have successfully completed over 100 hours of college math courses and applied mathematical theories in diverse technical applications. Many of these courses and applications required me to be proficient in the basic math fundamentals learned during precalculus. |

Trigonometry is a perquisite for calculus and it includes the fundamental and widely used theories in higher forms of math. I have used the trigonometry principals extensively in subsequent courses and industry, especially in signal processing applications. |
