KimberlyI graduated from Ohio State University with my bachelor's degree in health sciences. I also earned a biology minor. I'm now pursuing a masters degree in physical therapy. I have over three years of experience as a tutor, and my specialties are math and English. The majority of my experience so far has been with students at the middle school and elementary school levels. I've also bilingual in English and Vietnamese. I enjoy helping students with homework and providing lesson plans catered to my students learning style and needs. Every student learns differently, so I modify my approach to match the way a student learns most effectively. I also work with my student to set up biweekly goals that we collaborate to help the student achieve. In my free time, I like to exercise, hike, draw, read, and learn on my own for fun.

HungIn college, I studied a variety of advanced mathematics subjects, and also gained the expertise needed to be a mathematics teacher at the high school level. I developed numerous skills that help me in tutoring, such as the ability to assess where a student is as far as level of interest and ability, which allows me to create individualized lesson plans that are more likely to lead them to success. I enjoy it when I can motivate a student to learn, and even enjoy learning. I've also spent time counseling students as they were headed off to college or to start their careers. This opportunity helped me as I improved my ability to interact with a diverse range of students, as well as their parents. I also gained the confidence needed to teach and tutor students. I've had classroom experience, which involved not only giving the lectures and lessons, but also creating the syllabus, writing and grading tests and quizzes, and grading students on the class as a whole. I've also done volunteer work, where I taught Vietnamese and math to children of Vietnamese heritage. I obtained my Ph.D. recently, and now lecture at the University of Wisconsin. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and playing soccer.

EmilyI have a bachelor's degree in political science and government from Boston University, and I'm currently attending American University as a student, where I am focused on intellectual property law. I grew up speaking Vietnamese and Chinese in my household, picking up Spanish and English as a student. I love to learn new languages and cultures, but my tutoring specialties are reading and writing. I can also help students with public speaking, essays, grammar, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, legal writing and research, and test preparation. When I have spare time, I like to cook, make films, read, and watch movies and documentaries.
