SanjivI have a BS in electrical engineering from Princeton, with a biology minor. As a high school student, I was a competition math tutor. In recent years, I tutored high school students in Germany in TAKS test prep. I've also tutored college students in calculus. Calculus happens to be my favorite, but I love to tutor any kind of math, including ACT, SAT, and GRE test preparation. I exhibit patience and enthusiasm with students. I believe every student can succeed if they're taught to develop confidence and think about problems properly. My interests include learning to dance and inspirational books.

CarlaEverybody faces a point in their academic career where they could use some outside help. As a tutor, I like to help students take advantage of their unique learning style, talents, and interests to help them maximize their potential. I'm certified as a teacher of math, social studies, science, and English language arts for fourth-graders through eighth-graders. I'm also certified to teach students at these grade levels English as a second language. I've taught English language arts at the sixth and seventh grade levels, English language arts for talented and gifted students in the seventh grade, pre-advanced placement ELA for seventh graders, and seventh grade journalism and writing. I've also helped over 1000 students improve their test taking skills to increase their scores on STAAR and TAKS assessments. In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I'm also skilled at helping students with special needs and learning disabilities. I like to find out where students are and help them build from there. I also like to create a comfortable learning environment where students aren't afraid to make mistakes, because this exposes areas we can focus on to help students fill gaps in their understanding. I try to help every student I work with gain a positive attitude about learning, because this is where the most progress can be made.

AlexisI have always held a high-regard for education and I have more than a decade of teaching experience. Although I hold a degree in history, with minors in English and political science as well as a successful teaching career, I continue to pursue my own education. I feel that it is important for me to advance my studies to increase my knowledge base and also to help keep me in the same mindset as students. When working with students I feel that it is necessary to relate to the challenges they face and to be able to effectively communicate lessons and knowledge to them. I am very passionate about connecting to students on the individual level and to assist them through their personal academic challenges. I have nine years of experience teaching secondary school and three years of teaching experience in elementary and post-secondary school. I have worked as a high school assistant principal, and I am currently the principal at a public charter high school. I have also worked with students on standardized test preparation, and I am proud to say that my classrooms have experienced several STAAR and TAKS passing rates of one hundred percent.
