PatriceI am a native of Jamaica who grew up in Kingston on the base camp for the Jamaica Defense Force, as my father was an Army Major. I teach Special Education classes, primarily to deaf children and those with emotional challenges, and I work with students from Kindergarten through college-age. My specialty is teaching American Sign Language. I believe students learn most easily when they are enjoying themselves, and I like to keep my sessions fun and relaxed. I keep up with all the latest research regarding teaching and learning theories in order to find even more strategies to assist my pupils. I would love to work with you or your child on any of areas I tutor, including Algebra 1, High School English, Geometry, College English, Elementary Math, Biology, Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Phonics, Literature, English Grammar and Syntax, American History, European History, Psychology, Summer Tutoring, Gifted, Special Education, Earth Science, Geography, Nutrition, Pre-Algebra, BASIC, Homework Support, Math, Science, English, Social Studies, Social Sciences, Technology and Computer Science, American Sign Language, Languages, or Elementary School Math. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy taking walks in the city, shopping, going to movies, and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes.

CherylAfter completing my bachelor's degree, I enrolled in a graduate program at the University of South Florida and earned my master's degree before beginning my career as a public school teacher. As a teacher, I had the privilege of using my American Sign Language skills to teach deaf high school students. While challenging at times, I found this to be an extremely rewarding experience where I was able to have a positive impact on my students' lives by helping them overcome their challenges and reach their full potential. Along with being a high school teacher, I've also worked with elementary and middle school students as well. More than anything, I enjoy working alongside students and helping them overcome various challenges so that they can reach success inside the classroom and out in the professional world. A large portion of my teaching experience involves math at various levels, but I've also helped students get a better understanding of science, social studies, and English. For me, the best part of being a teacher is being able to see your student have that "aha"Â moment where they finally understand a challenging concept. Along with teaching, I also enjoy photography, gardening, and spending times with my friends and family.

AriaMy name is Aria, and I'm currently attending Columbia University for my bachelor's degree in English. As a tutor, my specialties are language arts, reading comprehension, American sign language, and test preparation. I love learning, but I'm also very creative, and I've faced my own difficulties in the classroom learning successfully. I enjoy working with students to help them develop an interest and engagement in a subject, and I utilize creative approaches to accomplish that in our sessions. I love to learn, and I want students to love to learn as well. When I have free time, I enjoy collecting cameras and typewriters, following fashion, reading, art, and music.
