RoyI recently graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in Microbiology and Cell Science. My career in tutoring began in high school when I first began tutoring mathematics and chemistry. I continued with tutoring in college and spent time as an undergraduate teaching assistant. I now tutor in many scientific and mathematical fields for both high school and college, including biology, chemistry, microbiology, physics, algebra 1, geometry, biochemical foundations of living systems, organic chemistry, genetics, and inorganic chemistry. As an engaged learner, my personal study habits have provided me with classroom success as well as success with a variety of standardized tests. My primary approach when dealing with standardized tests does not involve memorization. Rather, I focus on conceptual learning and understanding. It has been my experience across all fields of study that true success comes from a thorough understanding of a given topic, a focused and analytical thought process, and a wide range of test skills to face questions and situations which are presented in a unique and challenging way. With these skills I also tutor students who are facing standardized tests such as SAT Math, PSAT Critical Reading, PSAT Mathematics, SAT Reading, MCAT Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems, MCAT Verbal Reasoning, MCAT Critical Analysis and Reading Skills, and more.
