NathaliaI'm a Spanish tutor and a native Spanish speaker, and I'm intimately familiar with the language and culture. I believe helping students learn about the culture is advantageous because students find it interesting, and thus they are more motivated to learn the language. When I work with students, I prioritize cultivating environment where students feel comfortable being themselves and communicating openly, which is important for effective and efficient learning. I'm also very optimistic and I love teaching. I set up sessions based on the individual learning style and needs of my students. I went to one of Colombia's top universities, where I earned my bachelor's degree in philosophy and humanities and my graduate degree in higher education with a philosophy emphasis. I was very successful as a higher education student, achieving high GPAs, scholarships, and academic honors. I have six years of experience tutoring Spanish up through the college level. I also have experience helping students learn Latin American literature and modern and contemporary philosophy. In addition, I have been a philosophy researcher, publishing academic articles and speaking in symposiums. At the corporate level, I have taught Spanish for employees of various different organizations.

MatthewI attended the University of Arizona to earn my bachelor's degree in business economics and my master's degree in Classics. I'm currently studying at UC Irvine for my doctoral degree in classics. I have four years of experience as a tutor, working with everyone from elementary school students to college students. My tutoring specialty is humanities, and I enjoy helping students learn English composition, history, ancient languages, and others. I love tutoring students in Latin because I believe it is extremely intricate but also beautiful. When I work with a student, I like to get started by understanding the requirements, assessing the student's abilities, discussing goals and expectations, and then putting together a customized lesson plan to help the student succeed.

JakeMy experience as a teacher includes leading courses in Greek and Latin at New York University, the University of Michigan, the University of Miami, and Princeton. I believe a good tutor is one who can adapt their approach to the needs of each student that they work with. When I work with students, I first figure out where the student is struggling and where the gaps are in their knowledge. I then understand how the student learns, and I explain concepts using different approaches and unique perspectives matching the student's learning style to help them understand concepts they missed out on. I also form relationships with my students so that we can connect and openly communicate about their needs and their progress, which is difficult to do at the classroom level. I listen attentively to my students to ensure that I'm addressing all of their needs.
