GregI have eight years of experience as a teacher. I worked with all types of students, including those in special education. I also am a lacrosse coach. As a tutor, my specialties are social studies, science, English, and math for students between six and 10th grade. I prioritize patience in my sessions, and I allow students to dictate the pace. I also adjust my approach to match the needs of my student. I like to keep sessions laid-back but focused on the task at hand, and I like to present information in fun and interesting ways to keep students engaged. In my free time, I enjoy hockey, coaching lacrosse, and ecology.

EmilyI'm Emily, and I graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor's degree in American studies. I also earned a creative writing minor. I currently own my own business, but I previously worked in medicine, education, and politics. I believe learning is a lifelong process, and I want my students to love learning so that they can enjoy exploring their curiosities throughout their lives. I can tutor subjects like elementary school math, history, algebra, geography, reading, writing, literature, essays, ACT preparation, study skills, public speaking, and more. In my free time, I enjoy coaching lacrosse and cheerleading, exercising, playing with my dogs, and cooking.

CandaceI'm currently seeking my undergraduate degree in the biology of global health from Georgetown University. I am on the premed track. As an educator, I've gained five years of experience as a tutor and lacrosse coach. I enjoy tutoring students in biology, English, math, Spanish, writing, and history. I've always loved the sciences, and biology in particular, and this inspired me to see the path of attending medical school in the future. I also love writing, and through my liberal arts studies at Georgetown, I've been able to refine my writing abilities and academic papers, articles, and science essays. I'm currently working on pushing the project with a colleague and a professor regarding health issues in the host country of an Olympic Games. I have strong communication and leadership skills thanks to my experiences in sports, and I'm very organized and patient as well. I believe that these qualities allow me to provide effective and supportive tutelage to my students. I encourage a lot of practice for my students to help them refine their understanding and retain information. I also offer a lot of different resources to try to see what helps my students learn best and keeps them interested and engaged. Ultimately, I want to create confident students with independent learning skills.
