PhilipI can tutor students in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, trigonometry, and other math topics; English, literature, reading, and writing; in history, government, and other social studies topics. I've had the opportunity to teach in public schools in urban areas as well as small private schools. I've encountered students from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles. I feel that tutoring is a fulfilling endeavor because I get to help students learn topics and master them. I believe that if I tutor students properly, they will come to enjoy learning and be motivated to achieve their goals. I am looking forward to helping students learn any of the topics I teach or helping them study for the SAT, LSAT,HSPT, ISEE, SSAT, or other exams.

DreyI'm attending UC Santa Barbara for my undergraduate degree in economics accounting. Education is always been a part of my life, as my mother teachers junior high. As a high school student, I tutored junior high students in all subjects. I also have helped students prepare for private school admission exams like the HSPT and ISEE. I will also be earning a minor in writing at UC Santa Barbara, and I've spent time helping students with creative writing, essays, and academic research papers. I'm the oldest member of my family in the current generation, and I have 25 cousins, so I'm skilled at working with and communicating with children of all ages. When I tutor students, it's usually accounting and economics courses. I help students understand accounting by getting students through the steps and showing them the core concepts, and then we work together to solve problems until the student can solve problems on their own. I believe knowledge of economics is very important for our society, and I get fulfillment knowing that I'm helping others understand it. In my free time, I enjoy volleyball and snowboarding.

AllieI'm a tutor with a broad academic background, and I can help students learn many things. My specialty is helping students become better writers. My time in tutoring and as an editor has given me the experience of working with students of all ages and abilities. I've helped kindergarten students develop literacy skills. I've helped high school students write policy essays for admission to top colleges. I've been a TA, a workshop teacher, and a tutor of literacy for at risk and low income students. I've also help students who claimed to hate writing and reading and transformed them into excellent, confident writers. Overall, my students and been very successful in writing and in other topics that I've tutored them in. I'm looking forward to helping students in essay writing and editing, English grammar and syntax, literature, phonics, reading, history, study skills and organization, math, and in test preparation for the ACT, PSAT, SAT, HSPT, and other admissions and assessment exams. When I have free time, of course I love to write. I enjoy writing fiction in particular. I also am a voracious reader. Outside of that, another activity I enjoy is riding my bike around Chicago.
