Find a Homeschool Tutor
I was once neighbors with a kid who was homeschooled. The kid was super smart and was taking college classes and volunteered at the local museum. We were the same age - 15. Yes, the kid was super smart. Why? Because he wasn't just homeschooled, but he had a personal homeschool tutor. Search for your personal homeschool tutor from thousands of choices. KathleenI am a writer who is available to tutor writing, reading, phonics, literature, and English grammar and syntax. I can also help students with essays and study for tests such as the ISEE, ASPIRE, ACT, and SAT. My experience is with all ages of students. I have homeschool my children and family members' children from first through twelfth grades, and I have worked with children in a local non-profit youth orchestra. Through these experiences, I have worked with hundreds of students. I am a passionate and compassionate person who loves to teach others, keeping in mind that everyone learns differently. Because of that, I make sure that I tailor my teaching to the individual student instead of teaching as if there is a one-size-fits all approach. To keep my writing skills fresh, I participate in a local writing group. I am very interested in languages and have studied French, Russian, Old English, and Spanish at different times in my life. I also taught Latin in my home school. I constantly strive to educate myself, visiting historical sites while on vacation, reading, and even playing trivia games. My other hobbies include playing board and tabletop role playing games, knitting, sewing, and animals.

JauneenI have been teaching for 23 years. I went to Northeastern Bible College for my bachelor's degree in elementary education and biblical studies. I have since been teaching in many different settings, including classrooms, small groups, churches, homeschooling, and even working as a swim instructor. I homeschool my own children, and I believe in presenting information in ways that are interesting and fun to keep students engaged. If students are getting frustrated, then the approach needs to change. Overall, I'm invested in the success of my students. I tutor elementary math, middle school math, reading, pre-algebra, religions, social studies, English, and test preparation. In my free time, I enjoy running, writing, hiking, cross-country skiing, riding horses, and reading.

ErinI attended Louisiana State University for my bachelor's degree in creative writing. I then went back to get a degree in secondary education of English. I've had experience teaching ESL in Korea. I've also been a homeschool teacher and I have plenty of tutoring experience. I've taught just about every subject, and I utilize an approach where I identify the talents and learning styles of my students to dictate the way I teach them. I enjoy helping students work through learning obstacles to achieve success. I also believe that learning can be fun. I can tutor algebra, elementary school math, middle school math, public speaking, French, English grammar, essays, study skills, literature, and test preparation for the ACT, SAT, and other exams. When I have free time, I enjoy yoga, fitness, cycling, gymnastics, reading, illustration, vegetarianism, and drinking coffee. I also like to paint, travel, play the ukulele, and learn about cultures.
