StephanieI attended Washington University to earn my bachelor's degree in cognitive science. I also attended Columbia University to complete a post-baccalaureate in business. I'm looking forward to Indiana University for my MBA, which I will focus around management in health care and nonprofits. I spent four years with the National Student Leadership Conference as the director of operations. This has given me the opportunity to work at conferences where I present, develop lesson plans, and examine curriculum. I've always loved math and science, and I enjoy helping students understand why these topics are important by showing how abstract concepts we study are used in the real world. I believe building a strong understanding of science and math helps students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will be used outside of the subjects in careers and in life. I can tutor students in algebra, English, business, geometry, pre-calculus, biology, trigonometry, chemistry, physics, reading, writing, and test preparation for the GED, IB and AP exams, ACT, and others. When I have free time, I enjoy reading, and I love sports. I've been tutoring for the New York Yankees for years, and I love professional football. I also enjoy fantasy football. Other interests include dance, yoga, using the beach, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with my dog.

JessicaI attended the University of Puget Sound, where I earned my BA in International Political Economy with an interdisciplinary emphasis in Asian Studies. While I studied there, I became a peer advisor, which involved my assisting freshmen students in their academic planning process. After graduating, I've done a great deal of tutoring in various areas, such as math and reading for middle grade students, ESL, and preparing for the GED. I also spent time working in a prison, instructing inmates in college prep writing. I've spent a few years living in India and Southeast Asia, as well. When I tutor, I take a compassionate approach, while focusing on the important details and on efficiency. I encourage the students I tutor to take what they learn for school, and apply it to real-world situations. At the same time, I keep us focused on improving the student's grades. I am able to tutor in a huge variety of subjects, some of which include history, writing, geography, and English at different levels. I also enjoy helping students prepare for standardized tests such as the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, among others. When I have free time, I enjoy acrobatic yoga, vegetarian cooking, and biking.

AnnaI went to Tulane University to earn my bachelor's degree in English. I concentrated in creative writing and earned a political science minor. I continued at Tulane to earn my master's degree in literature. As a tutor, I've been able to work as a TA in an elementary school classroom, serve in an academic enrichment program, help students prepare for AP tests, and others. I can tutor a number of different subjects, but I know the most about history, politics, and literature. I can also tutor English, study skills, government, public speaking, and I can help students prepare for the GED, PSAT, SAT, ISEE, and other admissions and assessment exams. I love learning and teaching, and I love writing. When I have free time, I like to read, do yoga, run, and explore the city.
