PolliannI attended the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and earned a degree in international culture and politics. I also participated in the language immersion program, studying abroad in France. This earned me a French proficiency certificate. I've been tutoring my peers since high school, and I've had the opportunity to tutor students at the high school level as an undergraduate at Georgetown. I can work with students of all ages and levels of ability. I've also studied law, and in particular human rights, immigration, criminal justice, and international law. My time in law and in the courtroom have given me experience working with people from many backgrounds and at many different stages in their lives. I enjoy working with people, and I like to explain difficult topics in simple ways. I also like to provide different perspectives on concepts that students struggle with to help them think about them differently. I can tutor students in essay writing and editing, grammar and syntax, literature, reading, writing, government, social studies, English, study skills, and more. When I have free time, I enjoy cooking and eating good food, tennis, riding my bike, and travel.

DeborahI earned my JD through the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, graduating cum laude from the School of Law there. I obtained a bachelor of business degree, where I majored in management at the University of Puerto Rico. After finishing law school, I became a member of the faculty at the National University College of Puerto Rico. I taught online classes in criminal justice. By collaborating as a facilitator and professor, I learned so much, and became aware that my passion is for teaching. It is my belief that through education, people can effect change in the world, as Mandela said. I currently work on the faculty team at Ana G. Mendez University in South Florida. One interesting thing I am able to do is facilitate dual language classes in Spanish and English. I am able to tutor in a wide variety of subjects, including Spanish at all levels, various law and legal classes, and even English and language arts classes. I am also available to assist students in preparing for standardized testing, such as the CLEP, LSAT, and more. In my free time, I love spending family time, especially having barbecues. I also love watching movies, hiking, and traveling.

CatherineI earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of San Francisco and my master's in Criminal Justice from the American Military University. I have been accepted into the King Carey School of Law at the University of Maryland. I have a wide variety of tutoring experience. In high school, I tutored younger students in an array of subjects ranging from English and social studies to math and sciences. In college, I was active in research assistance and student teaching. My passion for tutoring continued after college. During a volunteer trip abroad, I got the opportunity to teach children the alphabet in Spanish and to teach ESL courses for adults. My strong academic background and years of tutoring experience have taught me that adapting my teaching style to each individual student is very important. I'm also a huge advocate for equipping my students with problem-solving skills they need to think critically with or without their tutor or instructor present. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I spend time playing soccer and volleyball, traveling as much as possible, and reading Pulitzer Prize-winning novels. I look forward to our meeting and to assisting your child on the road to academic success!
