ToniI earned my undergraduate degree in computer science from the University of West Georgia. I love tutoring students because I see it as an opportunity to build their confidence and show them they are smarter than they believe. As a student, I found I always did better when I would work on topics independently. The process of figuring out solutions made it easier for me to understand and retain. While this made me a difficult student to teach, the experiences helped me become a great tutor because I have the ability to figure out new ways to teach until the student resonates with the lesson and understands the material. I offer tutoring for a wide variety of subjects, including algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1, elementary math, geometry, middle school math, pre-calculus, essay editing, writing, English grammar and syntax, computer programming, computer science, drawing, Java, arithmetic, nutrition, algebra 3/4, painting, 2D design, photography, technical writing, drawing, web design, pre-algebra, web development, discrete math, English, technology and computer science, and general study skills. I also teach similar AP subjects. I love finding new ways to help my students develop a passion for math. When they are able to move beyond the textbook and into a real world experience, the subject comes alive and their interest and success soars.

ShaneI attended the California State University in Northridge, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology. I enjoyed my time at school, as I really love learning. It seems like there's just so much out there to learn about. I'm interested in an eclectic group of subjects, such as psychology, math, ancient civilizations, sociology, and computer programming. I love to tutor in these subjects, and also in writing and editing essays, whether for classes or for college applications. The first victims, ahem, beneficiaries, of my tutoring skills were my two siblings. I was always able to help them understand assignments and prepare for tests. I felt a feeling of satisfaction when they responded positively, and both are currently doing very well academically in their high school as a freshman and a junior. So as much as I love learning, I also love sharing that learning with others. I feel like my excitement is passed on to my students, and that helps them do a better job at studying. I've been working as a math tutor, but can also tutor in other subjects, and in general study skills. During my free time, you can find me learning, playing video games, reading, dancing, listening to music, hiking, programming, or mountain biking.

DevanI recently received a bachelor of arts in math with a minor in computer science from Seattle University. I have a lot of experience as a tutor from as early as high school. I worked with students in my school to help improve our understanding of our common core subjects. My educational background has a heavy focus on math. As a tutor, I enjoy helping students develop a deeper grasp of all the different theorems, equations, and principles that are required to succeed in future math courses. I've gained experience in tutoring pre-algebra, calculus 1 through 4, trigonometry, and multivariable and differential equations. For students who need support in their computer programming courses, I can work with them to boost their understanding of C and C++ computer languages. When I work one-on-one with students, I build each lesson to reflect their goals while focusing on the concepts they need to work on. I like to make learning fun through a variety of teaching methods and educational tools. When I'm not tutoring students in math and science subjects, I love to play video games online. I spend a lot of time with my friends and family, typically watching movies, having dinner, or playing games.
