I am reading The Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. It's actually my 5th time reading it. I love it. What I love about the Classics is that I'm learning history as well as how the ancients thought about tough, tough questions that we even still consider today; such as:
What does it mean to be a human?
How should I treat other people?
When a warrior or soldier returns home from war, how can they get back to normal life?
These are germane questions thousands years ago and they still are today.
That's the power of deeply studying the Classics.
Classics is probably one of the best undergraduate majors available today. It's a great blend of the humanities plus the rigor of Greek, Latin, and some really, really difficult reading material from the Great Books of history. You'll need a Classics tutor if you want to succeed. Get one now.
EllenI'm a tutor who is based out of New York City, where I enjoy reading, writing, and traveling when I'm not in the classroom working with my students. I have a solid educational background, which included studying English and classics at the University of Richmond, as well as English at the graduate level at New York University. These experiences have given me a deep and nuanced understanding of the fields of English and history, which I'm extremely passionate about sharing with others. My first experience with tutoring began as a volunteer experience at the University of Richmond, where I worked with students aged six to ten. I loved this experience, and continued working as a tutor with pre-K students through the Jumpstart program. Now, I have over six years of experience working as a tutor in a variety of fields. I absolutely love the feeling I get when I see the student I'm working with finally start to grasp a challenging subject. My hope is that each of my students will be able have a long and successful academic career after their time with me. If you think I can help you reach your academic goals, please, reach out! I'd love to use the skills I've spent my career developing to help you get more out of your educational experience.

DylanHi, I'm Dylan and I found my passion for mentoring while I was on the lacrosse field in high school. I helped run summer lacrosse camps for youth, and I also became involved in tutoring in high school as well. My academic background includes pursuing my degree in psychology. I am studying classics and business management. In the upcoming summers, I am planning to split my time between Seattle and New York. I attend Columbia University in New York City. I believe in that the foundation of learning is the same across many subjects. I value a flexible and specific approach to any topic. I can help with subjects such as math, reading, Latin, and languages. When I am not tutoring or studying, you can find me playing lacrosse, watching movies, and reading. I also have a love for professional sports, including the NFL, MLB, and NBA. I am looking forward to helping my students gain a love for academia and reach their academic goals.

AlecI'm currently attending the University of Pittsburgh, where I study chemistry, neuroscience, French, and Classics. My hope for the future is to study medicine and pursue a degree in psychiatry. I have nine years of experience in French, and I love the language and culture. I believe it's a beautiful language that provides a wealth of history and literature. To get to the point where students can appreciate this, however, they need to first understand the language. Learning French can be a really enjoyable process. It doesn't have to be difficult or boring. I can help students, professionals, and people just looking to travel to French speaking countries develop a better command of the language. In addition to French, I can also help students learn physics. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music.
