PedroI'm studying at the University of Illinois - Chicago, pursuing a BS in Chemical Engineering. I've had the opportunity to do tutoring work in my fraternity while in college, both in chemistry and math. I'm able to tutor in various science and math topics, but my favorite topic is chemistry. I especially like chemistry because it is a very challenging course, and I feel fulfillment from solving such difficult problems. Also, through learning chemistry, I have discovered that even the most complex concepts can be understood easily once we break them down into its basic elements. This is how I view my tutoring, as well. When I tutor, I like to have students think out loud while they work through problems. Once they understand a particular concept, I have them work the problems on their own, explaining what they are doing along the way. By working together with my student, I am able to ascertain which concepts are difficult for them, and can adjust my methods to help them until they do understand. This type of collaborative relationship makes my system very effective. In my spare time, I like to play basketball, football, and numerous other intramural teams.

JanetI am a tutor of physics, chemistry, and math. I worked in chemical and environmental engineering, but I left my profession to raise children. I began tutoring when my children went to school. Those kids are now in college. I also have experience as a middle school and high school teacher. Many of the students sought tutelage from me outside of class, and I help them learn science and math topics. When I have free time, I like to travel, practice photography, bird watch, make quilts, and study genealogy.

GregoryI attended Hofstra University for my bachelor's degree in chemistry. I also minored in physics and math. I then went on to Columbia to earn my master's degree in chemistry. I've always loved education, and I've been helping students learn topics since I was a sophomore in high school. I've been awarded, achieved high GPAs, and otherwise achieved in school. I want to help others achieve as well. When I work with students, I relate concepts together using my own interdisciplinary knowledge in the student's interests. I want students to understand why a concept is important so that they are more motivated to learn it. When I can give someone a real life application of a concept, it easier for them to retain the information. I can tutor students in algebra, chemistry, calculus one through three, differential equations, organic chemistry, trigonometry, physics, and other math and science topics. In my free time, I like to skateboard, drop, and listen to music.
