KatrinaI am a UT - Austin graduate student pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. Prior to that, I attended Goucher College to earn my bachelor's degree in math and Spanish. When I work with students, I focus on the student's needs and learning style to help them develop confidence in their ability to solve problems and become self-sufficient learners. Every student has different strengths and areas of opportunity, but every student can learn math. I encourage students to tackle math problems in whatever way works for them. This allows students to learn how they learn, which sets them up for success now and in the future. I also help students develop study skills and organizational skills, which also helps lead to their success in all subject areas. I like to get to know my students and make them comfortable so that they can communicate openly and make mistakes without worrying about it. I can tutor students in algebra, calculus, English, Spanish, differential equations, statics, and others. In my free time, I enjoy reading, music, soccer, music, traveling, and spending time with family.

KarlMy name is Karl, and I'm skilled at the sciences and test preparation. I have researched HIV vaccines professionally, and I enjoy helping students navigate standardized tests. I can explain to students techniques that I utilized as well as tips that are universally effective. Test prep books do work, but they're very generic because they only provide the techniques that always work for everybody. I can focus on you and help you find things that can give you an extra edge. I'm dedicated to success of my students, and I'm looking forward to helping students learn more and maximize their academic potential. I can tutor students in trigonometry, college algebra, elementary school math, microbiology, high school physics, college physics, organic chemistry, calculus one and two, and others, or I can help students prepare for exams like the LSAT, SAT, PSAT, ACT, GRE, MCAT, GMAT, ISEE, HSPT, SSAT, and more. In my free time I enjoy learning on my own, exploring, studying politics, and watching NFL football.

ChelseaI went to BYU, where I earned a bachelor's degree in math in math education. I've had experience tutoring students from elementary school through high school, and I've helped members of my family with their educational needs. I love math, and geometry is my favorite because I'm very visual. I enjoy using drawing as a tool to explain math concepts to students. I also enjoy solving problems, and I try to instill problem-solving skills in my students. I believe calculus is an amazing topic, and I try to help students appreciate the power of calculus and how it relates so many things in our lives. Rather than give students answers, I like to guide them step-by-step using their preferred learning style to help them develop the ability to figure out problems on their own. There many ways in math to answer a problem, but there is always only one answer, so let students figure out problems in any way they prefer, which helps them better understand topics and retain information. When I have free time, I like to run, play volleyball, hike, bake desserts, do crafts, play the piano and violin, and watch movies.
