RichardI love teaching, especially math and science. I taught formally for three years and have additional experience teaching algebra, physics, biochemistry, organic chemistry, general chemistry, biology, pathophysiology, human anatomy and physiology, and pre-algebra. Often these subjects are presented in a dry way that is intimidating to some students. By contrast, I'm enthusiastic and positive, and I break down complex topics into more understandable segments and steps. I attended BYU for my bachelor's degree in exercise science, graduating cum laude and with honors. I was a TA in human anatomy at the college as well, eventually being chosen as the group leader. This allowed me to instruct other TA's in course material. I've also been a MCAT instructor, helping students prepare for the test individually and in small groups. I understand that everyone learns differently, and I've develop the skill to identify how a student learns and how I can modify my approach to teach to them for maximum effect. In addition to covering subjects, I also help students develop skills in time management, goal setting, accountability, and anxiety management. I want students to be confident in their abilities, and I want to help students understand the math and science subjects as something they can learn and enjoy. In my free time, I enjoy sports, photography, movies, video games, and spending time with my family.

PaulI attended Colorado College for my bachelor's degree in biology. As an undergraduate, I was able to study advanced science and math courses, along with Spanish and English. I was also able to spend time in Costa Rica studying Spanish. I recently took the dental aptitude test and scored very well on it, and I'm considering a career in dentistry. My broad academic background allows me to tutor a wide array of topics, but I particularly enjoy helping students learn science topics and Spanish. Courses I can tutor include algebra one and two, elementary and middle school math, biology, chemistry, microbiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, calculus one and two, and of course Spanish. I can also provide test taking techniques and other skills as I help students prepare for standardized tests like the SAT, PSAT, and others. I have four years of tutoring experience helping my peers at Colorado College through their unique study program. I will work alongside students to create lessons catered to the learning style and needs of each student to help them learn effectively and achieve success. In my free time, I enjoy fitness, fishing, hiking, playing sports, ecology, biotechnology, travel, and innovation.

DavidI went to UC - San Diego, where I earned a bachelor's degree in physiology and neuroscience. Also I graduated with honors as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. I love the sciences, and in particular biology and chemistry. I love to learn, and I'm enthusiastic discuss in these topics, which helps my students gain enthusiasm in these topics as well. I can teach biology and chemistry up through college level. I'm also very strong in algebra, biochemistry, and physics. I had the opportunity to work as a TA for biology professors at UC - San Diego. As a tutor, I'm adept at modifying my approach to match the needs of each individual student that I work with. I understand the subjects I tutor from both of perspective of being a student and of being an educator, and I've identified many effective strategies that I can share with students to help them achieve success. When I tutor students, I don't just want them to understand material, but I also want them to develop the skills to learn effectively on their own. I also believe learning should be fun, and I incorporate activities and my sense of humor to keep students focused. When I have free time, I enjoy exercise, basketball, racquetball, and eating good food. I'm looking forward to medical school in the future and I'm looking forward to helping you succeed.
