My two older brothers served in the Navy. One was a diver and the other was a Navy medic. I remember them telling me about taking the ASVAB Exam and that if you studied hard for it and were disciplined enough, you could do well. I believed them and many years later when it was to be my turn to take the ASVAB test, it turns out they were right.

KenI tutor students based on the fact that everyone learns differently. When students struggle with a topic, it's often because it wasn't taught in the way that they learn best. I focus on the student's learning style to teach to them in an effective and efficient manner. I'm currently a certified substitute teacher, and I teach math and science topics. I enjoy problem-solving, and I utilize this throughout my career. When I work with students, I focus first on helping them understand material fully. Next I help them work on their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Lastly, I have students demonstrate their knowledge to me on practice problems and new challenges. This lets me know my student has learned the material and can apply their knowledge. I believe this is the best way to help students be successful and have them retain information for future use. I'm looking forward to tutoring students in biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, linear algebra, inorganic chemistry, and other related topics. I can also help students prepare for the ASVAB and other standardized tests. When I have free time, I like to do outdoor activities. This includes hiking and camping. I also like to spend time playing with my kids.

JoelI'm a tutor, coach, and teacher. I like to help students develop a better understanding of their coursework as well as test taking skills and techniques. I enjoy showing students the ins and outs of exams like the ACT, SAT, PSAT, LSAT, ASVAB, GMAT, and others so that they can prepare for the format of the exam as well as the material. Overall, this leads to the highest score. I can also tutor students in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, economics, business, elementary and middle school math, trigonometry, pre-algebra, English grammar and syntax, writing, English, and others. In my spare time, I am interested in entrepreneurship, politics, martial arts, kayaking, and hiking.
