NicholeThere are many academic subjects that I am able to help with. I have an MFA in Visual Art and a bachelor's in Art History and Studio Art both. During my studies, I took numerous classes in math and chemistry. I am also available to help in writing because my coursework demanded that I write at a high level. In addition to writing, I can also help students prepare for the English portion of the SAT. I am a creative person, but also able to think critically when necessary. The ability to think both creatively and critically allows me to help students with many of the challenges they face in their coursework. Helping individuals learn how to think outside the box is something that I am passionate about. When I am not tutoring, you can find me at my place of employment. I work part-time at the UCSD library. My job entails preserving books, so I am also good at bookbinding. I have many different hobbies when I am not tutoring or working, including cooking meals on my tiny kitchenette. I am looking forward to getting to know you or your child and using my skills to help them meet their academic goals.

NicholasI have worked in various fields where teaching and training was an important part of the job. This includes my work as an EMT, where I trained students and those with many years of experience on how to understand and excel in what they are learning. I believe practical experience is not optional, and create lessons that allow the student to gain a full understanding of what we are studying. I completed my bachelor's at the University of Buffalo, where I majored in Aerospace Engineering. I am currently earning a master's in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University. Â Among the subjects, I tutor students in are Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Algebra 3/4, College Algebra, Calculus 1-3, Elementary through middle school Math, Finite Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Trigonometry, Python, Technology and Computer Science, Art, Discrete Math, and Homework Support, including Organization and Study Skills. I understand the importance and need for test prep, and help students get ready for the GRE, including Writing, Verbal, and Quantitative skills necessary for the test they take. When I'm not working with students, I'm active and love to go biking or rock climbing, including ice climbing. I have an artistic side and enjoy photography as well. I also dabble in robotics.

HarryI hold a Bachelor of Arts with a focus in Theater and Education from Northwestern University's School of Communications. Since graduation, I have worked at the Rubin Museum of Art as an educator. My tutoring style is based upon understanding and personalization. Every student has a different style; some are visual learners, some are auditory learners, others are kinesthetic learners. I do my best to tailor every lesson to fit each student's unique needs. I believe teachable techniques like organization and mental strategy are the foundation of academic excellence. Though content retention is vital, the way in which we view the questions that are asked and how we understand the test's format are also essential to success, particularly when preparing for standardized testing. As a tutor, I want to lead my students toward a deep understanding of the test's underlying structure and goals. To achieve this, I use cutting-edge mindfulness, awareness, and associative memory techniques to guide my students toward subject mastery, higher academic confidence, and reduced stress. I specialize in college admissions coaching, SAT, SSAT, and SAT II prep for Math, Literature, Verbal, and Writing. I am also able to tutor any K-8 subject, plus High School History, Literature, Writing, and English. When I'm not tutoring, I like to compose music, practice yoga, and write, perform, and direct theater.
