LilyI attended the School of Visual Arts to earn my BFA in illustration and cartooning. I earned my Teaching English as a Foreign Language, or TEFL, certificate in Costa Rica. The experience taught me a great deal about learning and teaching languages to others. I can work with students of all ages and skill levels, both in groups and on a one-on-one basis. As an instructor, the student's understanding is my top priority. I strive to determine their skill levels before developing a learning plan to ensure success. I build upon their knowledge to help them master each concept before moving on to the next. It is important that each student not only learns what they need to succeed, but also that they know how to use it. I offer tutoring sessions for a variety of subjects, including English, drawing, Spanish, and ESL/ELL. I also offer test prep sessions for those gearing up for AP, ACT, SAT, and other standardized exams. I believe that learning additional languages opens new doors. I strive to offer engaging and creative lessons. When I'm not teaching, I love creating cartoons and animations. I enjoy learning new languages, playing pool, swimming, and reading in Spanish and English.

AhmedI have 8 years of experience teaching test prep in English language courses. I have taken a number of standardized tests myself, including the IELTS, TOEFL, and GRE. I am very familiar with how to prepare for these exams successfully, and am looking forward to helping students prepare for and excel in their exams. My doctoral research concerns how intercultural communications take place within video games. I was recognized with an award for a video game I designed as well. I am currently working as a TA at a college campus. I have had the opportunity to teach 3-Dimensional game design and development, 2-Dimensional game development, animation, communications media research, and multimedia. I have also presented to large groups at conferences and am bilingual in Arabic and English. In my free time, I like to design video games and run.
