NatachaI am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in architecture from The American River College. I absolutely love working with students to help them develop a joy for learning in general and a true understanding of their coursework. Currently I offer tutoring services for several classes, including pre-algebra, algebra 1, French 1, French 2, French 3, French 4, conversational French, and languages. My native language is French and I am fluent in both French and English. I believe this offers a number of significant benefits for those students that need help mastering the language. I am able to help them master not only the rules of the language but also attain a feeling for the rhythm and cadence of the language that can be impossible to master through self-study or even classroom courses. By offering my students someone with whom they can practice their linguistic skills on a regular basis, I am able to dramatically improve their ability to work with the language in a more natural and authentic way. This then translates to an increased ability to read and write the language as well. No matter what course I am working with a student on, I take my time to ensure we are moving at a pace and in such a way that will offer the most benefit to the student.

GenesisOne of the qualities I feel is essential for a tutor is the ability to explain their understanding of the material in question to the student in such a way that the student is interested and able to understand. This can involve using different methods of teaching, because students have a variety of learning styles. I also like to get to know my students, and find out what we have in common, as that helps build a bond of trust, which is conducive to a successful tutoring relationship. Once I know my student's learning style, their interests and strengths, I developed an individualized plan of attack that not only helps the student learn the information, but remain engaged and maybe even enjoy our time together. I find it's important for my students to not just memorize a bunch of facts for a test. They learn more successfully when they come to truly understanding the topic, in context, including connections to their live or to other things they already know. This leads to a much greater rate of success on tests, and a greater rate of retention. I am available to tutor a wide variety of subjects, including helping students prepare for standardized tests like the PSAT, CAHSEE, SAT, and more.

FaizanI attended UC - Davis for my undergraduate degree in chemical engineering. I have over three years of experience as a tutor, helping college-level and high school level students in chemistry, physics, and math. I love to share the subjects that I know with others to help them come to a better understanding. I focus on helping students develop learning skills and problem-solving skills, which are crucial to helping students become independent learners. I can tutor algebra, chemistry, calculus, differential equations, physical science, pre-algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, economics, physics, and test preparation for the SAT, GRE, MCAT, and others. When I have some spare time, I like to swim and hike. I also enjoy basketball.
