RavenAs a third-grader, the big class project was to write an autobiography including a section on what we envisioned ourselves doing in the future. I thought that I would have a PhD in Sociology and work as a teacher. Today, I am studying for a PhD in Public and Urban Policy at The New School while working as an adjunct instructor at Hunter College in New York City. I wasn't always the best student, but hard work still allowed me to achieve my childhood dreams. I try to use this success story to inspire my own students. I have a true passion for learning, which also means I have a passion for teaching and tutoring. I have experience working with students from multiple cultural backgrounds on a diverse array of academic subjects, such as Statistics, Social Sciences, Data Collection, and Research Methods. This makes me confident that I can help nearly any student work toward their academic goals. When I'm not teaching, tutoring, or studying, I enjoy traveling and keeping up with current events, especially politics. I also enjoy bike riding and spending time with animals.

MeganI love math and enjoy sharing my passion with others. Who the other people are doesn't really matter, as I've tutored my Little Sister through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, my biological little brother in high school, and even my teammates on the varsity soccer team. I have also worked with students on strategies to mitigate interpersonal violence on our college campus, an experience that taught me how important it is to understand what you are teaching before you try to teach it. I try to make learning fun wherever possible because it helps students become more invested in the learning process. One of my favorite ways to do this is to provide real-world examples on how something in mathematics affects their everyday lives. Outside of mathematics, my interests include photography, sports, running, baking, and spending quality time with my family.

LydiaMy personal belief is that a strong educational background is a key to having a meaningful and successful life. I have a passion for learning which has afforded me many opportunities, and I want to give these same chances to my students with compassionate and diligent teaching. I have tutored since the eighth grade, and I have also helped my cousins and younger siblings with their homework. I earned my bachelor's degree in political science and government after graduating from a top high school with a strong STEM program. I can help with many subjects including algebra, test prep, literature, English, essay editing, writing, and many others. I want to help my students achieve their dreams.
