KenI have an extensive work history as an educator. I have taught a Rhetoric and Public Address course to freshmen at the University of Illinois, seven years of English in the St. Louis Public School System, English Grammar and Composition from middle school through college, and American Literature from middle school through the college level. I have also taught specific classes on Public Speaking, Writing, Oral Communications, and Syntax. My style is always tailored to my student's unique needs. While classrooms are forced to assume that all students are at the same level and lecture accordingly, I meet my student wherever they are intellectually and design lesson plans that they will find engaging, but not overwhelming. I also offer excellent communication skills that take my tutoring to the next level. Reach out to me today!

CourtneyCurrently, I work as a part-time professor at the college level. I also tutor students in various subjects including media studies, English, and writing. My tutoring sessions involve more than a basic overview of these subjects. I strive to help students develop an independent approach to critical thinking skills, reading, and writing, which can help individuals in the future during their educational pursuits. I have a bachelor's degree in media studies from Emerson College. I also earned my PhD in cinema-television and critical studies from the University of Southern California. When my nose isn't in books and my eyes aren't glued to a movie screen, I like to spend my time cooking, knitting, or hiking with my dogs.
