MaxwellI am currently a college freshman studying Computer Science at Los Angeles City College. I actually started tutoring by accident, as one of my friends needed help with her work and I volunteered. The experience helped me develop as a tutor, as it taught me patience, resourcefulness, and empathy. She was also a visual learner, forcing me to come up with techniques for teaching a student who learns differently than I do. I'm comfortable tutoring a number of math-related topics, including Algebra I and II, Geometry, Art, and Pre-Algebra. The hallmark of my teaching style is to help students relate mathematics concepts to their day-to-day interests or activities. When I'm not tutoring or studying, I enjoy swimming, cycling, soccer, hiking, and reading.

MarcusI studied engineering at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, earning my bachelor's degree before continuing on to receive a master's degree in chemical engineering from the same place. I am currently earning a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at the University of California. Education is something I have always been passionate about, and I want to be a professor in the future. In my current field, I use calculus, geometry, and algebra every day so I am well-equipped to tutor those subjects. I can also help with chemistry, biology, and biochemistry as well. If I get a few minutes to myself, I like reading, cooking, swimming, hiking, volleyball, and practicing yoga.

AlexanderI earned my bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology from Vanderbilt University with a minor in scientific computing and French. I am currently beginning work on my Ph.D. in plant biology at UC Riverside. I can tutor in many subjects such as chemistry, writing, and statistics. My favorite subject to tutor is science because I enjoy inspiring others to love science as well. I encourage my students to develop critical thinking skills. When I am not tutoring or teaching, I have many hobbies and interests. I like cooking and baking, swimming, and science. I am looking forward to meeting and working with you to reach your academic goals.
