LauraMy college majors have given me an extensive background in anthropology, politics, history, Arabic, Spanish, and English. I went through two programs, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, as well as one called Peace and Global Studies at Earlham College. I am most interested in tutoring writing topics, reading comprehension, reading practice, text analysis, and literature. I can help with the subjects listed above, as well as standardized test prep, with students of any age. Teaching is my passion because I know that every person is able to learn and find things they are passionate about. I use multiple teaching methods in each session and I strive to diversify my lessons. I firmly believe that learning should extend outside of the classroom. I am passionate about learning no matter what form it takes. Also, I know that we all learn during every part of our everyday lives, including from our relationships, job interviews, etc. I strive to make all of my pupils excited about learning. I am looking forward to helping you or your child exceed academic goals and set new ones. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy dancing, reading, and writing.

AP English Language and Composition
BethanyI love learning and having the opportunity to help others on their academic path. I truly believe that each of us should constantly be striving towards our own betterment and a deeper understanding of the world around us. It is with this belief that I have always approached my own education and the point of view I bring to each tutoring session. I believe it is my responsibility as a tutor to not only help the students who are struggling with specific concepts but to also help inspire an authentic curiosity about the world around them. To do this I take the time to get to know my students and their unique learning styles in order to create the most engaging and effective lessons possible. I currently tutor a wide variety of subjects, including algebra 1 & 2, AP music theory, elementary school writing, geometry, adult literacy, elementary math, middle school math, trigonometry, biology, chemistry, science, English, reading, social studies, writing, art, essay editing, literature, music theory, English grammar and syntax, music, art history, American history, AP English language and composition, European history, AP English literature and composition, comparative literature, earth science, geography, IB music HL & SL, IB theatre HL & SL, physical science, pre-algebra, public speaking, and world religions. I also enjoy helping students who are preparing for exams such as the ISEE or SAT.

Middle School Math
AshleyI hold a BA in Mathematics from Anderson University and would like to help students succeed in their math courses. I am comfortable with all levels of mathematics, from the middle school level through college-level courses such as Finite Mathematics, Discrete Math, AP Statistics, Trigonometry, and the Quantitative portion of the GRE exam. I understand that many students struggle with math, but I can provide the practice and advice necessary to make it feel easier. I'm also a big believer in adapting the concepts discussed in math to a student's interests. Sports fans often see statistics in a new, favorable light, while video game fans appreciate the math involved in programming. I'm a great choice for everything from math homework to math tests, so reach out to me today to discuss availability.
