ZilI'm a tutor based in Tampa, Florida, where I enjoy playing sports, reading, volunteering, and traveling when I'm not working with students. I'm a graduate of the University of Miami, where I received my bachelor's degree in microbiology and immunology, and graduated with magna cum laude honors. I'm also a medical student. My experiences as a student have shown me the value that hard work and dedication can provide students. Although I ultimately wish to become a practicing medical doctor, I also really enjoy helping students get the most out of their education. I know that each and every student is different and I take that into account in my tutoring sessions. I provide customized, individualized lesson plans for each student that takes into account the needs and confidence levels of that student. This allows me to avoid a cookie-cutter style of teaching that isn't always successful. I want all of my students to feel motivated to reach for higher heights in their education. I do this by trying to instill a passion for learning in them. I specialize in tutoring most levels of math and science, but I can also help students with their writing.

MeganI earned my English degree from the University of South Florida, and I love literature, writing, and reading. Words fascinate me, from their origins to their histories to their meanings. I believe writing and reading are the foundation of all education, and they are necessary for success in any profession. Everyone continues to build the skills as readers and writers throughout their lives, but those who gain an edge have the chance for realizing their full potential. I taught reading and English at the secondary level, and I'm excited to help students using the one-on-one approach of tutoring to help them excel in their studies. My other interests outside of English include getting out in nature, baking, eating good food, and dogs.

JacobI attended UW - Platteville for my degree in bio-health. I graduated summa cum laude. I was also on the football team and was recognized as an All-American. I was a tutor in college, and I've taken courses in effective tutoring. I like science and math, and I especially like to tutor chemistry. Chemistry is a subject that I initially struggled with, so I know what it's like to be frustrated by it, but I also know what it's like to overcome learning obstacles. From this experience I prioritize listening and being patient, because these qualities help students work through these issues. When I work with students, I make sure they understand the base concept before we move on to the next thing. I also explain why everything we learn is important. I like to take complex ideas and break them down into their more simple components. I also teach based on the learning style my students, so I encourage communication to help me identify how students think. This also helps me gauge progress. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, being outside, going to the beach, traveling, and collecting sneakers. I recently had the opportunity to assist in a Brazil medical lab.
