JoelI majored in Spanish as an undergraduate at Eastern Washington University, earned a minor in ESL. I enjoy tutoring students in ESL, English, and Spanish, and I like to help students learn about the cultures of these languages as a way to help them better understand and appreciate the language. Ultimately, I want students to love languages and culture as much as I do. I really enjoyed my mission work overseas, and I've been to Honduras on three different occasions. The ability to communicate with people and other lands and experience their way of life, customs, and culture is what drives me to inspire language learning in others. When I have free time, I enjoy art, listening to music, playing and coaching soccer, going on hikes, and cooking.

BrandyI'm an educator based in Spokane, Washington. Education has always played an important role in my life. I can vividly remember being a young child, imagining what it would be like to become a teacher one day. I've always wanted to help others in need, a trait that, as I've grown older, has expressed itself in a desire to be in the field of teaching. As part of this long-standing desire to teach, I began working with various age groups in a childcare setting. As I worked with different-aged children, I began to find the age group that I felt like I had the most impact on -- preschool students from ages three to five. I found it very rewarding to work with these children and their families. We worked together, as a team, to support the children in reaching their goals and to support the parents in learning how to best support their child's growth. I plan on continuing pursuing my desire to help others -- a path I think will eventually lead me to complete my master's degree in addition to educating and volunteering in my community. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy being social, being outdoors, and trying new things. I hope that the skills I've spent my life developing can help you reach your child reach their educational goals.
