DeniceI attended the University of California at San Diego, where I earned my bachelor of science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. While I was studying for my degree, I devoted ten to fifteen hours per week to tutoring other students in a variety of subjects, while also helping them develop good study skills such as time management and organization. I specialize in tutoring in the science field, but also am qualified to tutor in a number of other subjects, including Spanish. I'm now working towards my master's degree in Medical Health Sciences through the Touro University in Nevada. And of course, I continue to tutor students. I have developed excellent skills over the years as I've been tutoring, such as patience, the ability to communicate well with a wide variety of people, and specific skills in teaching individuals. I like tutoring, because it gives me the chance to build a trusting relationship with my student, which gives me more opportunity to encourage them and provide them with the specific tools they need, which is different for every student, to succeed in their academic goals. When I'm not tutoring or studying, I enjoy indoor climbing, hiking, painting, and attending musicals and plays.

DariusI am currently pursuing degrees in mechanical engineering and computer science from the University of Nevada. My rigorous academic schedule has given me a firm foundation in the areas of physics and mathematics. I have been tutoring other university students for several years and students of all ages elsewhere. I am especially fond of tutoring students in the fields of math and science. Some of the subjects I tutor include pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, precalculus, calculus 1, calculus 2, calculus 3, trigonometry, physics, mechanical engineering, math, science, C++, technology and computer science, computer science, and related AB courses. My tutoring philosophy is that each student deserves to be treated as an individual. This means that the lessons I create and the style in which I present them are individualized for each student. It is impossible to effectively tutor students as if they were all the same and should all learn in exactly the same way. I take the time to analyze each student's strengths and weaknesses and then create lessons that will make the material more easily accessible to them. I love watching how my students progress over time and how each academic success boosts their confidence and makes them more eager to continue working towards mastery of the subject.
