IanI have extensive tutoring experience working with a variety of age groups, including middle schoolers looking to raise their grades across the board, high school juniors preparing for the SAT, and reviewing math with a college graduate interested in applying for business school. The most rewarding part for me is helping a student apply something from school in another context. While I'm comfortable with all academic subjects, math has always been my favorite. My students describe my approach as patient and encouraging, with a particular knack for identifying any underlying problem that is preventing a student from understanding a concept. I am currently attending UC Berkeley as an Applied Math/Computer Science double major, so I understand the pressures students face. I also have hobbies outside of the classroom, including virtual reality, chess, and tennis.

ElizabethI earned my bachelor's degree in psychology and chemistry from Columbia University in the City of New York. I have tutored students from elementary school age through college, and everything in between, in a variety of subjects including algebra, music theory, reading, writing, psychology, and quite a few more. I've also tutored students in standardized test prep for exams like the PSAT, SAT, ISEE, STAAR, and others who have gone on to achieve or exceed their goal scores. Tutoring brings me joy, and I strive to empower my students so that they gain the confidence to face future academic challenges, and really challenges throughout their life. In my spare time, I love to sing and do interior design.

BillI find tutoring to be rewarding and fulfilling. Through my tutoring experience, I've enjoyed watching students work towards overcoming their academic challenges. When tutoring students, my goal is to provide individuals with lessons that they can apply to future educational experiences. I find that one-on-one tutoring works well because students can feel comfortable and confident when asking questions and expressing themselves. I encourage my students to open up during sessions and work towards gaining interest and confidence in their curriculum. I have a Bachelor in Arts degree in English from the University of California - Berkeley, and I spend my spare time biking, swimming, writing, reading, and watching sports.
