This means that the almost 180-square-mile city is packed with historic buildings that not only have rich history behind them, but are great displays of the variety of architectural designs used throughout the centuries since it was settled. Most notable is its Spanish architecture, due to the city being founded and inhabited by the Spanish.

LoganI'm a tutor who is based out of Salt Lake City, Utah, where I enjoy watching and playing sports in addition to cooking when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I'm a current undergraduate student at Brigham Young University, where I'm majoring in public health. I hope one day to become a hospital administrator. More importantly to my tutoring work, though, is my passion for the Spanish language. I'm minoring in Spanish at Brigham Young University, but I've had a deep interest for the language since the eighth grade, when I won an award at school for my work in the language. I continued to study Spanish throughout high school, and eventually served an LDS mission in Southern Spain, where I really solidified my mastery of the language. I learned how to communicate with people one step at a time while in Spain, which allowed me to lay a solid foundation upon which to build for the rest of my stay. I know that students sometimes struggle with learning a new language like Spanish. However, I firmly believe that every student has the ability to master the language if they have the right level of dedication, along with the proper guidance. As a tutor, I seek to provide the guidance my students need to help them really excel in their language learning. If you think I can help, I'd be honored to work with you. Please, feel free to reach out and we'll work collaboratively to come up with a lesson plan that works best for you.

DanielI am someone who is motivated to succeed and learn more, which is why I make such a successful tutor. In my opinion, one of the best parts of being a teacher is getting the opportunity to experience the excitement your student feels when they finally overcome one of their academic hurdles. At the moment, I am studying at the University of Utah, where I'm pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science and linguistics. Once I graduate, I plan on entering a PhD program in linguistics, as well as receive a master's degree in computer science. In my free time, I love to live an active lifestyle that allows me to learn new things. Along with practicing Krav Maga and Choy Li Fut, I also do ballet and study foreign languages. Along with English and Spanish, I'm also learning how to master Mandarin Chinese and French. As a tutor, it's my goal to help students improve their proficiency in all of these languages. I believe that the best way to learn a new language is through hands-on activities that give you the opportunity to actually practice the language, rather than just memorize words. When I'm not busy teaching and learning, I like to play video games and practice martial arts.

BrandonAs a college student, I always helped my peers work through their difficulties. My classmates told me the way I explained calculus, chemistry, physics, and algebra made it easier for them to follow, and they asked why things weren't explained that way in class. This was my first exposure to tutoring, something I really enjoy. My philosophy is that students already know math, and we just need to figure out where the disconnect is. I attempt to help students with this by using unique approaches and a laid-back methodology. I'm also professional skydiving instructor. In this role, I've learned to help students stay relaxed and reduce anxiety. I also get to explain quite a bit of physics along the way as well as help students learn to utilize their critical thinking skills in stressful situations. I love to skydive, base jump, scuba dive, ski, snowboard, and participate in other similar activities.
