SuzannahI went to the University of Toronto to earn my master's degree in English and creative writing, preceded by my undergraduate studies at the University of King's College. I'm currently studying for a master of fine arts degree at Ohio State University, where I also work as an instructor. I am a published author and poet, and I love writing. KomalI earned my bachelor's degree in math at Ohio State University. I'm now studying at the University of Akron to earn my master's degree in math. I love teaching math because I really enjoy the subject and look at it as a game. I believe that an effective tutor is someone who really enjoys the subject, but also can be patient with students to ensure they understand concepts before moving on. I have both of these qualities, and I was inspired by teachers that I had who were very enthusiastic about math. I've been teaching math for the past three years at a learning center, and I have experience working with special needs students. I can tutor algebra, calculus, elementary and middle school math, pre-algebra, pre-calculus, multivariable calculus, ACT prep, GRE prep, and other related subjects. When I have spare time, I like to play squash, watch TV, and bake.

BrodieI am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in exercise physiology with minors in nutrition and biology from Ohio University. Upon graduation I intend to pursue admission into the physician assistant school to eventually work in either pediatrics or emergency medicine. Throughout my academic journey I have worked with other students as a tutor and I have served as a teaching assistant at my college for three semesters. I am most passionate about the field of sciences, and particularly human anatomy. I currently tutor a variety of science courses, including anatomy, biology, organic chemistry, physiology, nutrition, science, physics, biomechanics, neuroscience, general biology, anatomy & physiology, and genetics. I feel my special talent as a tutor comes from my ability to make difficult and intimidating subjects more fun for the student. This tends to help those who have lacked motivation or who have become stuck in the learning process begin to make progress. Depending on the student and their specific learning needs I use several fun learning tools such as mnemonics, Jeopardy type games, and animations. My goal is to not only help the students achieve a level of mastery with the subject but also to broaden their horizons and inspire them to pursue learning as a lifelong endeavor.
