MeishanI am a Korean tutor who was born in China, giving me native fluency in both languages. I'm also proficient in English, making me an ideal tutor for any student who wants to learn one of these three languages. In fact, I already know the best learning materials to help students with any level of Chinese or Korean. I'm also passionate about music, as I've been playing the piano since the age of eight including multiple stints in school bands. I can help you with that, too. My approach is to foster an independent love of the subject matter with every student I work with, inspiring them to study on their own instead of because a teacher or parent told them to. I'm currently working with students aged 5-15 and one adult, so I have some practical tutoring experience. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, yoga, and running. Please reach out to me if you feel I may be the right fit for you!

MarlaI love writing and I get a lot of enjoyment out of teaching this skill to students. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in English. My experience in college allowed me to master many different writing skills, such as citing material, organizing outlines, writing a thesis, web diagramming, and brainstorming. I am able to teach students many different forms of writing, including grant writing, essay writing, creative writing, comparative writing, and expository writing, to name a few. I can teach students from the elementary level all the way through the graduate level and I am looking forward to helping more students achieve success through writing. In my free time, I enjoy spirituality, music, gardening, meditation, and yoga.

KurtisAfter graduating Olivet Nazarene University with a bachelor's degree in Social Science Education, I decided to use my skills to become an educator. I enjoy tutoring because of the one-on-one nature of each session. During my studies I learned how I could help students best through these individualized interactions. I find tutoring to be rewarding and enjoy developing a rapport with each student to help them grow confidence in their academic work. I am most passionate about history, but also enjoy psychology and sociology. I enjoy combining my passions with teaching others, and can help students with ACT prep, civics, American history, social studies, and several other areas of academic study.
