MaureenI've been involved in education for the majority of my adult life. I have four years of experience as an environmental education teacher, after which I went to St. Thomas University to earn my master's degree in education. I then spent seven years teaching chemistry, earth science, and environmental science. After starting a family, I became interested in early childhood education. I started an accredited private preschool, which taught in for seven years. I then worked for a while as a substitute teacher. I'm now the education director of a private school. I enjoy my job, but I missed teaching so I decided become a private tutor as well. When I work with students I utilize a holistic approach that calls upon all learning modalities. I enjoy helping students learn new topics and develop a love of learning. I can tutor students in English, writing, study skills, physical science, astronomy, earth science, ecology, elementary topics, middle school science and math, and more. When I have free time, I like to do outdoor activities like riding a bike, working in the garden, rollerblading, and kayaking. I also love to read. Other interests include pottery and spending time with my family and friends.

JessicaI'm a tutor who is based out of Madison, Wisconsin, where I enjoy reading, going hiking, and exploring new places when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of Wisconsin, and currently attend Edgewood College where I'm working towards getting my English teaching license in secondary education. I have experience working with students in kindergarten, but would ultimately like to teach either middle or high school. I have experience working with students at a local community center, where I tutor elementary-aged international students in a variety of math, reading, and writing coursework. Through my experience I've come across many different students with different goals and skill levels. As a tutor I strive to help all of my students reach their goals, no matter what they are. I take a collaborative approach towards working with students, and work together with the student to build strategies and methods for success. I seek to instill the same confidence I have for education and learning in each of the students I work with. If you think I can help you get more out of your education, I would love to work with you.

AdamI have been an educator for a large portion of my life. Beginning in middle school and continuing in high school, I tutored underprivileged youth in algebra and other math topics. As an undergraduate, I worked in the writing and math centers on campus as a volunteer. Today, I'm at the University of Wisconsin - Madison teaching logic ethics classes for the philosophy department. Teaching and education really defines me as a person. I do not really have a dominant teaching philosophy because I believe every student in every situation is different, and the value I provide most is the ability to recognize these distinctions so that I can teach to them the most efficient and effective way possible.
