JeannieI teach English as a second language, writing, and reading at the high school level as well as in pre-college programs. I've worked with students of all ages, including adults. I went to Indiana University of Pennsylvania to earn my bachelor's degree in Spanish, and I was able to spend time studying abroad in Mexico at La Universidad de Las Americas. As an undergraduate, I tutored peers in essays and other English topics. I then went on to Northern Arizona University for my master's degree in bilingual and multicultural education. As a graduate student, I taught ESL courses at the junior high level. After I received my graduate degree, I took an adjunct role at a community college teaching courses like language arts, graphic design computer literacy, visual arts, writing, reading, and ESL through a program for adults. Overall, my goal is to help students improve their communication skills in writing and as English speakers. I like to help students become confident in their abilities because I believe that this leads to their success. When I have free time, I like to practice photography, study mythology in anthropology, go on bike rides, and hike.

CandyI love learning, particularly math topics. I think students perform the best when they work with someone that they like, so when I work with students I like to build a relationship with them and create an environment that is respectful and dignified. I believe that every student learns in their own unique way, so I cater my approach to the individual needs of each student I work with. I enjoy teaching math and presenting it in interesting and engaging ways. My hobbies include basketball, tennis, track and field and other sports. I also like to dance, sing, exercise, and read.

AlexandraI love to teach students and to have a positive effect on their lives. It is rewarding for me to know that I helped even one student experience success. I love it when a concept a student has been struggling with finally clicks for them. I am certified to teach at the elementary school level, and I have been working as a substitute teacher. I am comfortable working with students of any age, and I can help with college-level English and test preparation, but my favorites are elementary school students.
