YoussefI believe patience is a virtue when it comes to learning. I understand that many students look at topics like math and feel they are too hard to learn. I believe that any student can learn any topic with the right amount of dedication, patience, and determination. With that combination, anxiety towards a topic can become enthusiasm for learning it. I want to help students in any way that I can, and usually that means adapting my teaching style to match the learning style of the student I'm working with. I take the responsibility to help that student achieve their goals. In my free time, I like to cook, watch movies, take my dogs to the dog park, and spend time with family. I also enjoy sports.

CatherineI earned my bachelor's degree in anthropology from Ohio State University. I'm a history buff, and I love sharing my knowledge and excitement about history with others. My specialty topics in history include US history, modern European history, and Catholicism and the papacy. I can speak, write, and read French, and I love tutoring the language. I also love writing and reading, and I can explain tricky grammar rules in simple terms. I worked with everyone from small children to adults. I like to get to know my students so I understand how they think and how they learn. This allows me to modify my teaching style to help them make the most of our time together. I want my students to be as excited about learning is I am. When I have some spare time, I enjoy playing video games, cooking good food, embroidery, and working in my garden. I also like to paint, go to museums, and play tabletop games. I have a dog and cat that are fun to play with, I also like to read. My favorites are Echo and the Harry Potter books.

AmeliaHi, I am an experienced French tutor with over eighteen years of experience studying the language. I am a fluent French speaker. The culture and the language both interest me intently. I have even had the chance to work in France for a year, teaching a six year old child the English language. When I started working with him, the only things he could say were "hello" and "goodnight." By the time I was finished tutoring him, he understood ninety-five percent of what I said. He also was forming complete English sentences and would ask me often for new words to practice. This experience is where I fell in love with teaching and tutoring. My personal belief is that pupils learn the best when they have a specific reason to learn. This reason could be having relatives or friends that speak the language they seek to learn, or need to learn it in order to move forward in their career or education. I spend a lot of time figuring out what interests each student and create lesson plans accordingly. I use a lot of different methods to teach, including YouTube videos, television shows, games, and music. I have found that once they find the material interesting, they want to know more. I am looking forward to sharing more of my experiences with my new pupils and bonding through a mutual love of language.
