SaraI have been tutoring for over eleven years. Six years of my experience were as a private tutor, and five were as a volunteer. I have mostly worked with students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. I earned a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master's degree in elementary school teaching from the same university. I would love to help students in writing, English, math, grammar, and more. I have worked with students who are struggling to read and those who have dyslexia. I enjoy biking, reading, and swimming when I am not tutoring and teaching. I look forward to working with you.

PatriciaI transitioned to a career in education after starting my professional life in the medical field. I'm certified to teach English to students in grades 7-12, but all of my experience to date has come in non-traditional classrooms. I believe that every student has the potential to achieve great things, but many struggle with the rigors of the traditional setting. As the first college graduate in my family, I understand that academics get tough. I try to use my unique perspective to help students overcome whatever obstacles are preventing them from reaching their academic potential. I find that the easiest way to engage students is by focusing on whatever they find most interesting. Once they have a base to build upon, similar techniques can expand what they know even if they don't find subsequent material as interesting. My favorite subjects are Writing and Literature because they help students tap into the limitless power of words.

HollyI am currently working as a freelance writer and I have over 70 publications in the realms of journalism, creative nonfiction, and playwriting. I have more than 10 years of experience as a teacher at both the college and high school levels. I am currently working in the English Department at a high school and I teach literature, scholarly writing, creative writing, and critical reading. I have also worked as an adjunct professor and a literary magazine editor. I enjoy working with students to help them find their voice. I want my students to be able to know what they want to say and have the ability to say it through their writing. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, music, writing, and reading.
