SaharI earned my bachelor of arts degree in Sociology from Vassar College, and went on to completed a pre-med program where I earned my certificate of Medical Sciences at Drexel University. For a year after that, as I applied to various medical schools, I worked in a Johns Hopkins research lab. Finally, I made it into the MD/ PhD program at Virginia Commonwealth University, and graduated with my MD and PhD in Immunology and Microbiology. Through all of my many years of schooling, I have acted as a tutor to students in both the areas of study related to medicine, and others, like social science, writing, critical analysis, among many others, including a number of AP classes. I've also helped students as they prepared for various standardized tests, such as the PSAT, SAT, MCAT, and others. I get a great deal of satisfaction from tutoring on an individual basis, and seeing my students succeed and move forward in their lives, academically, and eventually into careers that bring them joy. In my spare time, I enjoy painting, finding locally sourced food to cook with, gardening, and reading the best quality novels of our times.

JacobI graduated from Brigham Young University in Idaho with my bachelor's in biology. While studying, I began volunteering to tutor other students in chemistry, anatomy, algebra, and Spanish. I spent two years in Chile, developing a high proficiency in speaking Spanish. I work one-on-one with students to increase their skills, whether they struggle in pronunciation or they need to improve their vocabulary for conversational Spanish. As a tutor, I believe a strong conceptual foundation is important to absolute mastery of any subject. A grasp of Latin roots will strengthen a student's knowledge in Spanish, as well as prepare them for future potential coursework in science or medicine, where much of the terminology is Latin in nature. I enjoy biology and its related sciences, whether I am learning or teaching it. I use a variety of teaching methods to ensure absolute absorption of the materials as the student learns them. I encourage students self-confidence by strengthening and building upon their current knowledge in ways that work for their learning style. I can provide homework support and test prep on any of these subjects. I live a diverse lifestyle in my free time. I love attending concerts, playing music and video games, and snowboarding.

BrendanI graduated from South Dakota State University with a math degree specializing in education. After I graduated, I began teaching high school-level mathematics. In high school, I tutored two students privately and worked once a week at Brookings South Dakota High School, which was a credit recovery tutoring program. While enrolled at SDSU, I tutored for the SDSU Math Department, working with pre-college algebra students on their homework, as well as at the Math Help Center, where I tutored students one-on-one and proctored exams. I am capable of tutoring students in a wide range of math subjects. I excel at Algebraic topics, easily breaking complex material down in a way that my student can comprehend. As a tutor, I strive to use my math knowledge to change the way students perceive the subject. I believe tutoring is an invaluable supplement to go together with traditional learning. It allows targeted and personalized direction through engaging and fun materials. In my free time, I am often doing extensive research on my family's genealogy. I am fascinated with the history of my roots. I often volunteer my time as a tutor to underprivileged students. I love to go running at a local park.
