ColleenI am a biomedical engineer, with a degree from Arizona State University. I love science and math and I also love sharing those subjects with others. I have experience helping people of all ages, from three-years to adults. I am also passionate about technology and I have skills and experience in helping people develop skills for the professional world. My tutoring style revolves around encouragement. I strongly believe that everyone can benefit from encouragement because so much of the time what stands in the way of learning is a child's confidence level. I have learned that students usually know more than they think they do and it brings me joy to help them discover their own natural talents. My teaching method includes asking questions and guiding my pupils to the answers with active problem solving from the beginning. I am a lifelong learner and I am always studying new ideas in medicine and science, anatomy is my main passion. When I am not teaching, you can find me doing yoga, hiking, and running. I am an avid outdoors lover, so you can find me doing just about anything that can be done outside.

CarlCurrently, I am attending the University of Minnesota -Twin Cities. I am a sophomore working on my B.S. in Microbiology. I would love to continue my education by pursuing a graduate degree in immunology or virology. As a student myself, I have learned how to perfect my own study habits and I have learned how to work through difficult concepts on my own. It is my desire to help others to do this so that they don't have to do it alone. I personally know what many students struggle with and I am excited to help them overcome those struggles. I offer tutoring in general biology including AP prep, at both the high school and college level. I also tutor for ACT prep and other standardized exams. I find biology to be fascinating, and I enjoy helping students prepare for these tests because I like to explore the process of answering and analyzing test questions. My goal is to help my students not only arrive at the correct answers but to help them gain the skills they need to develop their critical thinking skills so that they perform well on the exam and in their chosen career field. In addition to studying, I like to watch cooking shows and basketball. I also just recently completed my very first marathon and am an avid long-distance runner.
