ShiFenI've been teaching students Mandarin Chinese for 10 years. When I work with students as a tutor, I identify my student's interests and needs, and I adapt to meet those. I speak Mandarin Chinese natively, so I can help students understand Mandarin conversationally as well as help students develop the proper pronunciation. I also assist students in ESL.

OwenI am a non-traditional student and always have been, so I usually don't approach academics in a traditional way. I have ADHD, I have all my life. I am passionate about working with students who haven't realized their full potential. I love working with a wide range of students, including those with ADHD or other learning difficulties that have not realized the advantages of the diagnosis and those who are gifted who just need help slowing down. My idea of fun is digging in and helping these students learn the material they are struggling with. Now for my background, I grew up in Michigan and went to a tiny school, but I moved to Florida as soon as I graduated high school. I earned my Sport Management degree from Barry University in Miami. I have worked for the Miami Heat and the Florida Marlins. I moved back here to Michigan to open a golf shop. I realized just how important it is for me to be involved in education when I had kids myself. I wanted to make sure that school wasn't awful for them and now I want to do that for your kids as well. When I am not tutoring, I am watching sports and coaching.

CaseyI've been tutoring math and physics for the past couple of years, and I love it. It's very satisfying to help students who struggle to learn things like I once did. I used a tutor for math, and it was extremely helpful for me. I understand what students are going through when they get frustrated trying to understand something, but overcoming those obstacles was great and helps develop life skills. I now love math, and I love to share what I know about it with others. I hope to motivate my students to enjoy math as well. I can help students with calculus, differential equations, multivariable calculus, trigonometry, pre-calculus, geometry, algebra, finite math, discrete math, physics, and related subjects. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano or guitar, and outdoor activities. I like to backpack, hike, paddle board, camp, kayak, and more.
