I've been tutoring since I was a high school freshman, beginning with algebra and basic math. I now tutor a number of other subjects, such as writing, English, Spanish, and also with preparation for standardized tests such as the ACT. I'm able to help all ages of students, from elementary school through college. I'm currently studying for my bachelor's degree in General Biology at Boston University. I have found that no matter what a student's best learning style is, practice always helps. By becoming familiar with certain information or problems, students seem to succeed more often. I encourage my students to work hard, because ultimately they own their success and will need to continue successfully for their whole life.Education

I graduated from Union College with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and I completed a master's degree in organic chemistry at Stony Brook University. I have experience working in chemistry labs and my recent research has involved looking at antibacterial agents and anti-tumor agents. I also have experience working with students to learn how to use laboratory techniques in the proper way. I am comfortable tutoring students in math and science. I am specifically able to tutor students in chemistry and two different levels of algebra. In terms of hobbies, I am very passionate about ice hockey and I tend to enjoy activities that are related to nerd interests.Education

I attended Brandeis University out of high school, where I first earned my Bachelor of Science in general biology, and then my Master of Science in neuroscience, with a minor in chemistry. I have since been doing research in Colombia. The subjects I have the most enthusiasm to tutor students in are chemistry, neuroscience, and various math topics. I don't buy into the theory that students have to have some natural ability to succeed in math, science, or any other subject they may be studying. I strive to get my tutoring students engaged and interested, mainly by making our sessions fun while sneaking in all kinds of learning. In my free time, I enjoy ultimate Frisbee and cooking.Education
