I can help students in everything math, from elementary school arithmetic to geometry, algebra, statistics, trigonometry, pre-calculus, up to finite mathematics. I have experience teaching middle and high school students as well. Patience is my best attribute. It allows me to see into the student's mind and help them work towards that eureka moment at which they finally understand a concept. Test prep is another area I can help in, especially when it comes to the ACT or SAT. I've had much success in math, having scored 5 on the Calculus I and II AP exams, as well as a 36 on the ACT Math and Science sections. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.Education

I have a degree in human development from Washington College, and I am certified to teach grades one through six. I also have a minor in mathematics. My teaching experience includes most elementary grades and special needs students. I can also teach middle school mathematics. The courses I enjoy tutoring the most include algebra, math, phonics, geometry, English, and writing. I am in Mount Airy, so I would like to tutor students in and around the immediate area. I am excited to meet new students and help them achieve their goals. In my spare time, I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, doing crafts, hiking, traveling, and playing softball.Education

After graduating with my bachelor's degree in general biology from McDaniel College and my Master in Education in science teacher education from the College Park campus of the University of Maryland, I became a high school science teacher. Specifically, I have taught courses in chemistry, environmental science, robotics, marine science, and biology. I find biology especially compelling. I have experience working at the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) doing research on the biocontrol of plant diseases. I bring to my tutoring a wealth of real-world experience, which I find can really help motivate the students I work with. Outside of educational pursuits, I enjoy reading, hiking, camping, and knitting.Education
