RyanI'm a philosophy major at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. My studies focus heavily on the development of an equitable society and social justice for everyone. I tutor students of all ages and backgrounds in many of courses. I've learned that sometimes a student simply needs something explained in a different way for them to fully grasp the concept. I've spent time working with a variety of students in study groups as we worked to better understand a challenging philosophy topic. These discussion circles helped us all a great deal while developing my ideas on flexible and adaptable teaching styles. As a tutor, I believe it to be my job to get on the student's level. I strive to fit my teaching style to the student's capabilities, personality, and strengths. I work with student's to prepare them for the ACT, particularly in reading, science, and writing. I enjoy teaching English, philosophy, ethics, and writing college essays. I can help improve their editing skills or teach them important test-taking skills. Outside of tutoring, I spend a lot of my free time reading, both for class and fun. I enjoy self-education through exploration. I love to cook for friends, as well as sew.

CourtneyI attended Augsburg College for my undergraduate degree in sociology. I also minored in Spanish, and was recognized summa cum laude at graduation. I'm now supervising the library, and I love my job. My goal is to pursue a doctoral degree in sociology. I love helping others, and I've had the opportunity to teach people across all ages and from various diverse backgrounds. For my experience, I've developed the ability to cater my approach based on the learning styles and individual needs of each student I work with. I can tutor students in Latin, Spanish, writing, math, ACT test preparation, and a variety of other topics. When you work with me, we will focus on your goals and help you develop the skills you need to learn new things on your own. When I have free time, I enjoy reading. I also write in my journal regularly. I enjoy learning languages, and I'm currently studying French. I love to listen to music as well.

BenjaminI have bachelor's degrees in both astrophysics and physics. I'm planning to go back to school for my master's degree in technology policy. I'm currently working at a startup in the technology space. My tutoring history dates back to high school, and I have continued to help students learn since then. My experience includes work as a camp counselor and leading study sessions as an undergraduate student. These experiences allowed me to develop the skills to work independently with students and to present information in clear and concise manners to individuals and in the classroom. I can tutor subjects like calculus, French, algebra, precalculus, trigonometry, physics, astronomy, multivariable calculus, test preparation, and others. When I have free time, I enjoy rock climbing and science fiction.
