JessaleeI earned my bachelor of arts degree in English, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. I have a great passion for the processes of writing, from research through to the final edit, and everything in between. I like working with students in literature, grammar, writing, and Spanish, among others. I have a good deal of experience helping students with their writing, as I spend three years assisting writers as a job in the Center for Writing Excellence. I learned there that I needed to, and was able to, successfully adjust my methods of teaching to meet the needs of each individual student. I consider the tutoring relationship to be a collaborative one, where the student and I have the same goal, which is to improve each person in their writing habits. In the end, the student, the writer, takes ownership of their own writing. I work to help students discover their voice, and don't try to pass mine along to them. I enjoy the process of brainstorming and using that to develop outlines that help students write their first draft. Then I will ask them questions to make sure they understand their writing, and have met the requirements.

JasonCurrently, I am pursuing my master of arts in education. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a teacher in China for English language learners. My teaching involved a fair amount of tutoring and I believe that it helped to teach me how to make sessions fun and engaging. I prefer to begin and end each tutoring session with a game because I think that learning should be fun. In addition to my travels in China, I have visited Egypt and Jordan. I have some basic language skills in Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish. I enjoy many hobbies in my free time. I also have many interests, including playing guitar, solving Rubik's cubes, reading, drawing, refinishing furniture, painting, and on occasion playing with Nerf guns. I also like Dungeons and Dragons.

EricCurrently, I am a computer science major at Washington University in the city of St. Louis. It is my plan to either work on game design or cybersecurity in the future. In addition to being a student, I help oversee the weight room at the university's athletic complex, and I am also on the football team. I grew up in Minnesota, and I spent multiple years tutoring students who ranged in age from 5th grade up through 12th grade. In both tutoring and coaching, I have discovered that there is a great reward in seeing the progress my students can achieve through their hard work while also having a good time. As a tutor, I personally believe that student engagement is a vital part of learning. I love to tutor computer science and algebra, as I am most passionate about sciences and math. To me, algebra is just a logical puzzle, and I love solving it. I am a firm believer that any student can learn science and math while at the same time find enjoyment in what they are doing. Anytime I am not working with students or studying my own academics, I enjoy playing lacrosse in addition to football. I also follow all the sports teams from my home state.
