ShannonI'm attending Pikes Peak Community College studying ASL interpretation. I'm looking forward to moving on to a university and earning a bachelor's degree. I am already fluent in ASL, and I love the opportunity to tutor deaf students in any of the subjects I teach. I have experience tutoring students from age 8 to adults in English, math, test preparation, ASL, and others. My favorite subject to tutor is English. I've always excelled in English, and I really enjoy the subject. I'm a good creative writer and an essay writer, and I have good command of grammar. I also took AP English and AP history in high school, so I can help students work through these courses and I can also prepare them for the exams. My tutoring philosophy is to help students learn but also to help them develop an interest in the topic. This helps students stay motivated and work through any learning obstacles. I think learning can be fun, and I believe that anybody can be successful given the proper guidance and resources. In my free time, I enjoy writing, singing, Disney, mystery games, and rock climbing.

NicholasAs a tutor, my goal is to help students build a strong foundation of the concepts and then build upon it. By starting at the ground level, I can assess where the student is struggling and I can customize their learning to cover those areas. I focus my tutoring on math because that is one of my strengths. I am very patient with students and will go over a problem as many times as it takes for the student to understand. I will continue to go over topics in different manners until the student understands the concept. In this style, I am teaching at the student's pace and not my own. In addition to math, I work with students in social studies, general homework support, and various science classes. I also provide summer tutoring to keep skills sharp over the break. I am studying chemistry at the University of Central Florida. I enjoy my labs at the university, especially the basic acid-base titration procedure because of the amazing color change that occurs when it is performed. I am a person that likes to keep busy and when I am not studying or tutoring, I enjoy ping pong, video games, basketball, and surfing the web.

ChrisI have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in International Affairs, a major that includes social sciences like geography, history, and anthropology, among others, and focused on economics, from Florida State University. I realized at a young age that economics is really just figuring out people, and I found people extremely interesting. When I realized that something as simple as a parent giving a child a reward in exchange for changing a behavior was economics, I was intrigued. Ever since, my education has revolved around economics. Learning economics is gaining an understanding of technical terms for ideas that most people already know. It may seem daunting or confusing when first taking a class, but once the ideas are put in relatable terms, it's much more digestible. I have taught high school students and college students in a classroom setting and online. I tutor all the areas of economics - microeconomics and macroeconomics. I also tutor students in business - whether they are in a high school class or going for their MBA. I could talk about economics all day, but I also love animals and the outdoors. A major passion of mine is producing live theatre, and I attend plays whenever possible.
