I was a student at Cornell College, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I received my B.A. in International Development. While attending college, I was able to work at the Cornell writing studio as a peer tutor for a few years. This allowed me to be able to work with students from various disciplines and who were all at different academic levels. I worked with freshman struggling with their new classes, as well as seniors who needed help on their thesis. After I graduated, I was given the opportunity to travel to India, where I taught ESL to middle school students at a local public school. While there, I was able to work for a non-profit organization teaching the basics skills of literacy to girls with disadvantages. I love to teach writing and reading, which is lucky for me as almost all school subjects involves these skills. I love to help students develop a positive relationship with the learning process and help them find the excitement in what they are studying. I strive to empower and encourage my students. My goal is to help my students become strong, independent lifelong learners by working with their specific strengths and skills. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, baking, and hanging out with my cats and my family, which usually involves walking with my spouse.Education

I have solid experience as a tutor and teacher, and I'm looking forward to helping students better understand the subjects I teach. I'm also very familiar with the content and format of many standardized tests, and I'm skilled in helping students develop the skills and preparation techniques they need to achieve high scores. I can tutor algebra, calculus, linear algebra, quantitative reasoning, differential equations, geometry, calculus, pre-calculus, elementary math, middle school math, statistics, trigonometry, multivariable calculus, finite math, discrete math, and test preparation for the ACT, AP calculus, GRE verbal, and more. I have a zoology BS that I earned at UW - Madison. I scored a 520 on the MCAT. My teaching and tutoring experience spans over five years, working with young children, college students, middle schoolers, and even adults. The topics I've tutored include diverse subjects like electronic circuitry, writing and vocabulary, organic chemistry, biology, and algebra. As a tutor, it's my goal not just to improve grades, but to build a solid understanding and confidence in the subject so that when a student faces a new problem, they know the steps they need to take to solve it. In addition I'm always patient and supportive of my students.Education
