PhilipFor more than three decades, I was a 7th-12th grade teacher in Tokyo at the Seisen International School, a private college prep institution. I worked with students from more than 50 different countries and even more cultural backgrounds. My subjects were social studies, specifically history, and I also taught IB business classes. Prior to this, I earned my bachelor's degree in History from LaSalle University. When tutoring students in a variety of social studies/ humanities subjects, I like to get to know them and the way they learn most effectively, so that I can customize our sessions to best meet their needs. I do an initial assessment, and then we dig deeper into the subject at hand.

NoahI'm currently at the Santa Barbara campus of the University of California, pursuing my Bachelor of Science degree in physics. Math and science have always been a passion of mine, and I've known since middle school that I wanted to eventually earn my PhD in physics, specifically quantum computing, and work as a teacher or professor. Since high school, I have worked as a tutor, and found the individualized attention is so helpful for students as they work to achieve their academic goals. I tutor students in math and science subjects, and also help them prepare for these areas on standardized exams like the ACT and SAT, among others.
