KarianneI have an environmental BS from Beloit College, along with a PhD in law I earned at the University of Oregon School of Law. In addition, I've had the opportunity to travel and study in Switzerland, Australia, and Scotland. While I was a law student, I gained tutoring experience helping students prepare for the GRE. Additionally I was a civil procedure TA. I can tutor students in everything from reading to math, but I really enjoy helping students become better writers and editors and prepare for the English and verbal sections of standardized tests. I can also help with LSAT preparation and other law courses. When I have some spare time, I like to read, volunteer, play World of Warcraft, and cook.

EvanI earned my bachelor's in biology with a psychology minor at Allegheny College. I graduated in 2015 and moved to Pittsburgh to start working for Springdale's PPG company as a lab technician, where I use chemistry knowledge to test electrocoat paints for viability. I began tutoring students in science topics as a means of giving back to the community. While I work full time hours with PPG, I am available for tutoring after six PM during the week, as well as weekends if scheduled ahead of time. During high school and college, I served as a biology tutor for AP biology students preparing for their end of the year exam. I also spent two summers working at Maine Prep, tutoring students on the SAT subject test in Biology. Maine Prep introduced me to the important skills necessary for successful tutoring, including understanding the student's personality and goals, building confidence, and using a variety of learning tools. Among the biology subjects I am strong in, I tutor students in life sciences, microbiology, and honors chemistry. When I'm not tutoring or working, I enjoy the chance to relax and wind down after a long day. I love to play video games online and read books.

ChrisI have a broad academic background and in-depth knowledge of the subjects I teach. I work to keep students interested and engaged when we work together. I show students the techniques and strategies to learn concepts quickly and effectively, and I connect topics in math and science by relating concepts together and providing the background. The story of how a discovery was reached can help students better understand the concepts involved. When it comes to exam time, practice and drilling concepts is still effective, and I help students navigate this. I'm looking forward to helping students better understand mathematics and the sciences through providing a historical approach. When I have free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, riding my bike, and cooking.
