I am an experienced educator who specializes in early learning skills. I believe students who have fun while learning pick up concepts faster and retain them more easily. Helping students learn new skills and master difficult concepts is very rewarding. I have raised four children, two are in college and two are college graduates, and all were straight A students. I learned that structure, organization, and time management were essential for busy students who wanted to excel not only in academics, but also in sports. Children who learn the basics, like reading and math, can build on those skills to conquer more advanced classes. I look forward to working with you or your child on Algebra 1, Elementary Math, Reading, Essay Editing, Phonics, English Grammar and Syntax, Arithmetic, Math, English, Middle School Math, Elementary School Math, High School English, College English, or Elementary School Writing. If you are a non-native English speaker who would like to become more fluent in English, please contact me and we'll work together on your ESL/ELL. I spend a lot of my free time watching collegiate sports, including volleyball, baseball, and football, and I always enjoy spending time with my family.Education

I attended Harvard University to earn my bachelor's degree in psychology. I also love writing, and I have since I was a small child. I published a book as an 18-year-old, and I continue to write creative fiction, essays, and academic papers on concepts like psychiatry and neuroscience. As a tutor, I enjoy forming a connection with students and getting to know them so that I can modify my teaching methodology to match the learning style of my student. I feel learning is most effective when I can present material in a way that makes sense to the student and is engaging. When I have spare time, I enjoy studying holistic health.Education

I believe in active learning processes, so I work with students to keep them engaged and active in our sessions. I want students to develop self-esteem and an interest in the topic so that they can realize their full academic potential. I also believe students have innate curiosity and desire to learn. I seek to bring this out in students and make them aware of their natural proclivities to learn. I also like to form relationships with students so that we have open communication and I can address their needs directly. I can help students learn French, and I can teach them about French culture. I can also help them prepare for language exams. In my free time, I enjoy reading.Education
